Foulrice Park Racing

Facilities

Little Spigot is a purpose built training facility sandwiched between the High and Low Moor gallops in the heart of the Middleham racing centre. The whole site has been subject to a significant programme of renovation and refurbishment since it was acquired by Foulrice Park Racing and it now comprises a fully modernised facility for racehorse training and welfare.

The yard comprises the following:

  • 24 fully refurbished and modernised boxes
  • A five-berth horse walker
  • On-site paddocks
  • On-site staff accommodation providing around the clock supervision and security which is backed up by cctv

In addition there are two key assets which really set Little Spigot apart:

  • A large indoor schooling arena which is unique to the locality. This ensures that exercising can be maintained during  extremes of winter weather and also provides an ideal environment for schooling young horses
  • A refurbished staff and tack room block which now includes a balconied owner’s suite overlooking the parade ring, the stables and the Low Moor gallop

As a member of the Middleham Trainers Association Patrick has access to the extensive communal gallop facilities on the High and Low Moor which are literally on his doorstep. This meets all of the schooling and work requirements of any race horse. In addition the local area has many miles of off-road tracks which are ideal for general exercising requirements.

As one of the country’s leading racing centres, Middleham also provides ready access to all of the necessary specialist equine support services including vets, blacksmiths and experienced staff and work riders.
