Auxiliary (2013g - Fast Company)

Auxiliary (2013g - Fast Company)

Rated 68(f) Auxiliary was bought out of William Haggas's yard in October 2015. He has run consistently as a three year old placing a few times but hasn't had things fall for him to get his head in front again. He is shaping as if a step up in trip will help so hopefully his next win is not too far away. His pre-season form in training puts him into the 'One to watch' category for this summer.

Big Chunky (2013g - Kalinisi)

Big Chunky (2013g - Kalinisi)

Unrated - We are very excited about this young jumper who we bought from Ireland last Spring. He won't be rushed but his work at home is encouraging and we are looking forward to seeing him in action later this jumps season.

Bogardus (2011g - Dalakhani)

Bogardus (2011g - Dalakhani)

Rated 60(f) Bogardus was bought from Ireland in 2014 with an eye on his prospects as a hurdler. He ran solidly if unspectacularly in his first season for the yard but his form picked up when he was switched to the all weather culminating in a nice win at Kempton followed up by a good second. He once again started his flat campaign slowly in 2016 but won nicely at Nottingham in August when getting his favoured fast ground over a galloping 10f. He has now switched to his long term job of hurdling and made a very promising debut when placing at Kelso last September. We are very much looking forward to watching his progress as a jumper.

Buyer Beware (2012g - Big Bad Bob)

Rated 117(h), 73(f) Buyer Beware was bought out of Gordon Elliott's yard in August 2016 where he had built on solid flat form to become a consistent hurdler. As he is only a 4 year old we believe he has plenty of time to develop as a jumper and he also has dual purpose possibilities as a stayer on the flat. He is a welcome addition to the string and will hopefully provide us with our first ever runner at the Punchestown Festival at the end of this month.

Captain Peaky (2013g - Captain Gerrard)

Captain Peaky (2013g - Captain Gerrard)

Rated 60(f) We had this fellow for a period as a two year old but he went home to Ireland to be gelded and have a winter break. He came back to us last Spring and made a very promising debut when he finished third at Catterick in July. He has since placed a further couple of times and looks ready to lose his maiden tag. He is still very green so we are confident he will be a better 4 year old.

Charava (2012g - Thousand Words)

Charava (2012g - Thousand Words)

Rated 62(f) We bought Charava out of Willie McCreery's yard in Ireland after he showed some promise as a two year old. He is a very athletic horse but is a bit of a live wire and hard to keep completely sound. As a consequence, although he has already won two and been placed numerous times, we think we have not yet seen the best of him. Hopefully he can stay healthy and progress this season.

Cookie Ring (2011g - Moss Vale)

Cookie Ring (2011g - Moss Vale)

Rated 57(f) Cookie Ring came to the yard in late 2014 having been tried as a juvenile hurdler in Ireland with Christy Roche. After a settling in period he came to hand readily and has turned into a bit of an all-weather specialist. His 3 wins so far have included the first two successes for our yard apprentice Paula Muir so he has become a bit of a favourite. Unfortunately he picked up an injury last September which has delayed his return to action but he will be back in the Summer and we hope he will take to the surface at Newcastle.

Diamond Avalanche (2013g - Alfred Nobel)

Diamond Avalanche (2013g - Alfred Nobel)

Rated 55(f) Diamond Avalanche had some useful two year old form in Ireland but is a big horse and struggled to piece it together as a 3 year old. He has had a good break over the winter and has strengthened up nicely. We believe he can get his career back on track this season.

Duck Egg Blue (2014f - Haatef)

Duck Egg Blue (2014f - Haatef)

Rated 73(f) - We bought this promising filly from Ireland at the end of last season in the hope of finding a replacement for Lil Sophella to compete in the growing number of single sex races. She is a very game type who landed a couple of wins on softer ground at the back end of her two year old career. She will likely now need to step up in trip.

Fillydelphia (2011f - Strategic Prince)

Fillydelphia (2011f - Strategic Prince)

Rated 57(f) Fillydelphia got her racing career underway as a three year old in 2014 and made a very promising start. She ran nicely in three flat maidens and placed in a juvenile hurdle before sustaining a leg injury at Wetherby. Since her return in 2015 she has become a very consistent middle distance flat performer and has won twice and placed several more times. This season we may give her another try over hurdles and hope that she might become a dual purpose performer. Her passionate syndicate owners bring a delightful enthusiasm to the yard with every visit.

Foot the Bill (2005g Generous)

Foot the Bill (2005g Generous)

Retired - Foot the Bill is an old-fashioned Northern jumper who has been a great servant to the yard. He won 4 times and been placed on a further 15 occasions. He has now been retired from racing but still plays an important role leading our string of young jumpers when schooling and is very much the 'non-playing captain' of our team.

Framley Garth (2012g - Clodovil)

Framley Garth (2012g - Clodovil)

Rated 72(f) Framley Garth was a very busy 2 year old and may have paid for that a bit through a lack lustre early season as a 3 year old. He picked up in late summer, however, with a win at Thirsk and followed it up with another win and two photo finish seconds as a 4 year old. He has now been switched to hurdles and showed considerable promise on his debut at Catterick in a very hot novice. We are really looking forward to watching his progress over sticks.

Life Knowledge (2012g - Thewayyouare)

Life Knowledge (2012g - Thewayyouare)

Rated 57(f) Life Knowledge is a promising young horse who we have had since a yearling. He started nicely as a two year old but initially did not realise his potential on the flat where he became a 14 race maiden. However, he has finally shaken off some health niggles in recent months and seems revitalised. He shed his maiden tag on the flat at Newcastle in among three placed efforts over hurdles and looks set to be a great dual purpose fun horse for the yard over the next few seasons.

Lil Sophella (2009f Indian Haven)

Lil Sophella (2009f Indian Haven)

Rated 80(f) Lil Sophella is a real yard favorite. She is all heart and just loves her job. She really came of age in 2015 winning 3 times and placing another 5 times while seeing her mark rise by 20lbs as a result. She then started 2016 in a blaze of glory winning at York during the Dante meeting followed up by a terrific 3rd place in the Listed Pipalong at Pontefract. She is getting on a bit now but we will continue to run her as long as she maintains her enthusiasm. Watch out for her again at York in May.

Maple Stirrup (2012f - Duke of Marmalade)

Maple Stirrup (2012f - Duke of Marmalade)

Rated 57(f) Maple Stirrup is a very well bred Coolmore filly. The dam was a Group 3 winner in France with a staying pedigree and the sire was very much a late developer. As a consequence we have taken our time with her and she is now beginning to come to hand. She has become a very consistent stayer on the flat and has been very unlucky not to shed her maiden tag. She has also had a couple of runs over hurdles where her game attitude has been very evident although her physique may not quite suit that job. She will be back on the flat turf this summer.

Mission Mars (2013g - Kyllachy)

Mission Mars (2013g - Kyllachy)

Rated 47(f) This four year old was bought out of Luca Cumani's yard in October 2015. He has struggled to progress through the process of physical development so we have turned him out and given him time to grow into himself. This season will be make or break for his career as a racehorse but he shows plenty of ability at home so we are hopeful for him.

Mission Trio (2012g - Presenting)

Mission Trio (2012g - Presenting)

Unrated (-) Mission Trio is a young jumper who has started his racing career gently in 2017. He is a big fellow who looks a chaser all day long but he has had a couple of spins in bumpers to provide some racecourse education which will stand him in good stead.

Musico (2014g - Lilbourne Lad)

Musico (2014g - Lilbourne Lad)

Unrated 55(f) Musico is a two year old who we bought unraced from Ireland. He is not a big horse so we have taken it steadily, limiting him to just a couple of educational spins on the all weather at Newcastle. He has strengthened up nicely during his winter break and we are looking forward to watching him develop.

Optima Petamus (2012g - Mastercraftsman)

Optima Petamus (2012g - Mastercraftsman)

Rated 68(f) Optima Petamus is a big developing horse who, although he has already won on the flat, is still growing and filling out. We bought him with a view to his longer term potential over obstacles and he made a very encouraging debut over hurdles at Musselburgh in January when he finished third. He will probably have another summer on the flat to strengthen up before having a total focus on hurdling.

Princess Nearco (2014f - Elzaam)

Princess Nearco (2014f - Elzaam)

Unrated (-) This two year old filly was named in memory of a fantastic Northern circuit jumper called Prince Nearco who was owned and ridden by David Thompson, the uncle of her owner. She is a very nice sort who is being brought along steadily. She has had a couple of runs at Ripon to start her racecourse education but has had a break since and is now being readied for the new flat season.

Reflation (2012g - Stimulation)

Reflation (2012g - Stimulation)

Rating 65(f) We picked this sprinter up in the 2016 Autumn sales. He has won 3 times already and favours a bit of cut and a stiff track. We are hoping he can be a regular performer for us at Hamilton and Carlisle this summer.

Sir Domino (2012g - Evasive)

Sir Domino (2012g - Evasive)

Rated 70(f) - We bought this consistent sprinter out of Kevin Ryan's yard at the autumn sales and we hope he will be a good addition to the string. He has already won a couple of races and likes tracks like Carlisle and Hamilton which are regular haunts for us.

Stormbay Bomber (2009g - September Storm)

Stormbay Bomber (2009g - September Storm)

Rated 100(c) - Stormbay Bomber was one of our new recruits following the retirement of George Moore. He is an out and out summer jumper and built on a hurdle win to achieve his first chasing victory at Southwell in May. Thereafter he struggled to find his ground but he signed off with an encouraging run up in class at Sedgefield and he will be back in early Summer when the ground improves.

Swiss Lait (2011f - Milk it Mick)

Swiss Lait (2011f - Milk it Mick)

Rated 54(f) Swiss Lait is a quirky mare who took a little bit of time to settle into her new surroundings after joining the yard at the end of 2014. She worked well at home but only showed glimmers on the track in her first season with a handful of placed efforts. Last year she improved in leaps and bounds. After a creditable effort from out of the weights in a maiden, she won nicely at Carlisle second time out. The handicapper was tough on her but she has placed from a higher mark and will score again.

Time of my Life (2011g - Nayef)

Time of my Life (2011g - Nayef)

Rated 83(f) This is the second horse we have had in the yard of the same name, both for the same owner. This fellow is German bred and had done most of his early racing in France when we bought him at the Newmarket sales in October 2015. After a promising start to the season we decided to have him gelded to help his concentration and it did the trick as he won very nicely at Hamilton in July in a quite hot handicap. In the autumn we have tried him over hurdles where he is proving to be a reluctant pupil - he is likely to stick to the flat this summer.

Tomorrow's Legend - (2010g - Midnight Legend)

Tomorrow's Legend - (2010g - Midnight Legend)

Rated 115(c) - Tomorrow's Legend joined the yard following the retirement of George Moore. He is a very promising young chaser who placed a couple of times early last winter despite not having his preferred sound surface. When he got better ground at Carlisle in March he was a revelation winning quite a hot novice chase in a manner which suggested there might be more to come. He confirmed that promise with a very competitive second place at Perth. Neither Patrick nor his owners are keen to rush him but we are all very hopeful that we have a 'Saturday' horse on our hands.
